A long-standing neighbourhood Chinese eatery on Inokashira Street, celebrated for its signature fried rice and late-night hours.

Choraku is a venerable machi-chuka (neighbourhood Chinese) restaurant that has been serving Shibuya for decades. Tucked away on Inokashira Street, about 250 metres west of the main drag, it specialises in unpretentious, satisfying Chinese-Japanese fare that keeps locals coming back at all hours.

The menu is anchored by its famous fried rice - lighter than most, topped with a savoury pork and bamboo shoot filling - alongside gyoza dumplings and a variety of ramen, including the house 'Loose Ramen'. Most dishes sit comfortably under the 1,000 yen mark, making it one of central Shibuya's most affordable sit-down options.

Choraku stays open until 2:00 a.m. every day except Tuesdays, which makes it a reliable post-pint destination. The restaurant has also cultivated something of a cult following, even producing its own merchandise line - a testament to its status as a Shibuya institution.
