Din Tai Fung needs little introduction to anyone who appreciates soup dumplings. The Shanghai-born, Taiwan-honed chain opened its Shibuya branch inside Shibuya Scramble Square, bringing its meticulously crafted xiaolongbao to one of Tokyo's busiest transport hubs. Each dumpling is folded with trademark precision, and the menu extends to fried rice, noodle dishes and steamed buns, with some Japan-exclusive items not found at other global locations.
