A spacious Starbucks on the eleventh floor of Scramble Square, pairing coffee and cakes with panoramic views over Shibuya's rooftops.
This Starbucks occupies the eleventh floor of Shibuya Scramble Square, the towering complex that looms directly above the famous scramble crossing. Sharing its floor with a Tsutaya Bookstore outpost, the café offers a uniquely civilised twist on the standard Starbucks formula: you can browse books, settle into a seat with a latte, and gaze out at the Tokyo skyline all at once. The menu is the full Starbucks Japan range, including seasonal sakura and matcha specials that tend to draw queues when they launch. Food options span sandwiches, muffins and the brand's popular regional sweets. The seating is generous by Shibuya café standards, with a mix of sofa clusters, shared tables and window-side spots that look out over the district's neon-lit rooftops. The bookshop integration means the atmosphere is calmer and more contemplative than the average coffee chain.
Hours run from 10:00 to 23:00, and the café is directly connected to Shibuya Station via the building's second-floor concourse — take the lifts or escalators up from the east-side entrance. Evening visits reward you with glittering city views. The store can fill up during weekend afternoons, but the turnover is steady enough that a table rarely stays out of reach for long.

Some space with a beautiful view should be paid for if you want to sit in there.

I visited based on reviews that mentioned ordering a Starbucks beverage while enjoying the view of the crossing. In reality, a separate lounge must be accessed for an additional fee. Nonetheless, the coffee was satisfying and the cozy literary ambiance was delightful.

This Starbucks carries the same products as other locations, but its distinguishing feature is the integrated bookshop and the thoughtfully designed interior. The atmosphere up there feels akin to a design studio, offering a uniquely pleasant environment.

Enjoy a calm, expansive view of the Shibuya crossing. For 1,650 yen you get 60 minutes of unlimited reading, recharging, food, and beverages. When registering, request a table with a view; the staff will endeavor to reserve one on a floor while you order. Each floor is equipped with microwaves and restrooms, and includes two frozen items and one bento per person. Alcoholic drinks are available for an additional fee.
