Tonkatsu Maisen Shibuya Hikarie is an offshoot of one of Tokyo's most famous tonkatsu restaurants, bringing the brand's signature soft, chopstick-cuttable pork cutlets to the sixth floor of the Shibuya Hikarie building. The Maisen name is synonymous with quality tonkatsu across the city, and this branch maintains those high standards with the added convenience of being directly connected to Shibuya Station. The menu features classic tonkatsu teishoku set meals with perfectly fried, golden-crusted cutlets served alongside shredded cabbage, miso soup and rice. Lunch offers particularly good value with dedicated oboshi set meals, whilst the evening menu expands to include appetiser-style dishes that pair well with sake and beer. The Kurobuta pork options, sourced from heritage-breed pigs, are especially prized by regulars.
The restaurant is open from 11:00 to 22:00 with last orders for lunch at 15:00 and dinner at 21:00. Reservations are not accepted, so arriving slightly off-peak is advisable if you wish to avoid a wait. It is an excellent choice for a satisfying meal before or after exploring the shops and galleries elsewhere in Hikarie.

This is a place that will amaze your taste buds. The Tonkatsu is cooked perfectly, tender and juicy on the inside and crispy and flavourful on the outside. We left extremely satisfied and with a memory forever edged in our taste buds. Thank you for taking pride in presenting a dish that truly satisfies.

Food is very good but a bit pricey for lunch (3880 yen for lunch set is on the expensive side for Tokyo), the store is nice but a bit small so often there's line, service is good even if I had to ask cabbage refill as they did not notice I …

My first time dining here was on a friend's recommendation, and they weren't kidding about how good this place is. There are a few locations around Tokyo, but this is the only one I've been to. Make your way up to the 9th floor of the Tokyu …

Delicious tonkatsu located in the middle of Shibuya, crispy on the outside but the pork was soft and juicy. The set portion was generous and they have many sauces for you to try out. Staff was attentive and friendly and will offer to top up your shred cabbages. There were many lines but I do think it’s worth it.
